Responding To God's Call
Have you ever looked at your life and asked, "How did I get here?"
Maybe you're standing in a moment you never expected, or maybe you feel like you're still waiting for one. Either way, this message is for you!
In this sermon, Ricky shares his own journey — and traces every unexpected turn back to one defining posture: a heart that said "Yes" to God and meant it. Drawing from one of the most powerful prophetic encounters in all of Scripture, Isaiah 6:1-8, Ricky unpacks what it actually looks like to live with a responsive heart and why so many believers are missing out on the life and impact they were made for.
In this message, Ricky walks through three requirements of a responsive heart:
Perspective:
Too many Christians carry a small, boxed-in view of God. But Isaiah didn't encounter a small God. He saw the Lord high and exalted, seated on His throne, holy and full of glory. When your view of God expands, everything changes — including your willingness to move when He calls.
Sanctification:
So many people hold back because they feel like they're not good enough, not worthy enough, not ready enough. Ricky speaks directly to that lie. Because of Jesus and His perfect life, His death on the cross, and His resurrection — God takes each of us who were once sinful and He makes us useful. You are not disqualified. You are chosen, set apart, and sent.
Obedience:
This is where most believers stall out. We'll show up on Sunday, raise our hands during worship, and shout "amen" from the pew, but when God calls us to actually move, we sit on our hands hoping He'll pick someone else.
Ricky issues a challenge that cuts straight to the heart: in the Kingdom of God, a saved person is a sent person. And he reminds us that the hallmark of a great church isn't its seating capacity — it's its sending capacity.
If you've been feeling the pull to live for something bigger, to stop drifting and start responding, this message will meet you exactly where you are. Whether you're a long-time believer or still figuring out your faith, Isaiah's simple, total response — "Here I am. Send me." — is an invitation that still stands today.
