Baptism + Worship Night

Join us on Wednesday, May 20th, for a night full of worship, baptisms, and celebration! We'll have much to celebrate as members of Meta Church will go public with their faith in Jesus by taking the step of Baptism.
Our Baptism + Worship Service will take place at One Community Church in Hell's Kitchen from 7:00-9:00pm and we'll have a time of worship, an encouraging word from our pastors, and we'll cap off the night with the baptisms.
No matter if you're getting baptized yourself, or you simply want to attend so you can worship and celebrate with those who are getting baptized, it's going to be a night to remember and we'd love to have you join us!
To get signed up for our next baptism, just read the FAQs below and fill out the form if you're interested in getting baptized or learning more about baptism at Meta Church.
Baptism FAQs
Q: What is baptism?
- Baptism is a public declaration of one's personal faith and trust in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior (see Rom. 6:3-4 and Gal. 3:27).
Q: Is baptism important?
- Yes! Jesus, Himself, was baptized (see Matt. 3:13-17) and He instructed His disciples to baptize other believers upon their profession of faith (see Matt. 28:19-20).
Q: Is baptism required for salvation? Or does baptism forgive my sins?
- No and no. Baptism is not required for salvation, nor does it forgive a person's sins. The Scriptures clearly teach that only faith in Jesus Christ as Lord provides salvation and forgiveness of sins (see John 3:16; Rom. 5:8; and 2 Cor. 5:21). Baptism is simply a symbol and public proclamation of one's belief in Jesus Christ.
Q: Who should be baptized?
Q: How do you baptize people?
- We baptize by immersion. This means a person is submerged under the water and then raised out of the water. We practice baptism in this way for two reasons: First, this is how Jesus was baptized in Matthew 3:16. Secondly, we believe baptism by immersion best depicts Christ's death, burial, and resurrection.
Q: What if I was baptized as a child? Is it OK if I get baptized again?
- If you would like to be baptized again as a symbol of your commitment to Christ, or as a sign of rededication to faith, then you absolutely can! This is very common and completely OK. As long as you understand that you don't "have to" get re-baptized if your baptism occurred after you placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord.
